Nashville Band Room Repair has been serving Middle Tennessee musicians with band instrument repair for 30+ years as it was previously owned by Harley and Priscilla Tatarsky under the name Harley’s Band Room Repair. The shop continues to serve student to professional musicians under new ownership. In May 2014, long time lead repair technician T.J. Herrick and his wife Nancy acquired Harley’s Band Room Repair and modified the name to Nashville Band Room Repair.
Meet the staff
T.J. Herrick – Owner & Technician
T.J. received his band instrument repair training at Western Iowa Tech in Souix City, Iowa, under the instruction of Rod Siljenberg. He is qualified to work on every woodwind and brasswind instrument. He has 20+ years experience as a full time technician. During that time he worked with a few string technicians who taught him orchestral string repair. In 2013, T.J. attended workshops to cover the concepts, methods of application, and procedures involved in installing the Straubinger™ flute pad. Currently, T.J. is Nashville’s only repairman certified to install and repair Straubinger™ Pads. He worked at Harley’s Band Room Repair for 8 years before he and his wife bought the business from Harley. He is a saxophone, mandolin, guitar, and bass guitar player, singer, and songwriter. T.J. also enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing, and the outdoors.
Nancy Herrick – Owner
Nancy advanced her work career through management, customer service and business development management to now co owner of Nashville Band Room Repair. Occasionally, you may find her at the shop, however for now she remains behind the scenes supporting the team. She enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, watching hockey games and volunteer work.
Leah Houston – Repair Technician Apprentice
A native of Nashville, Leah currently attends Nashville State Community College where she plans to get a degree in Linguistics. She has worked in music retail among other customer service based companies for that past 5 years. In her free time you would find her playing the piano, practicing her fluency in Spanish, and working on various projects around her home.
